Kenya has recorded 606 new positive cases of coronavirus rising the total confirmed number of the virus to 18,581.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 4,888 samples were tested bringing to 284,500 the total number of samples tested so far by the Ministry of Health.
“Turning to our COVID-19 statistics, today 606 people have tested positive from 4,888 samples tested in the last 24 hours. This now brings to 18,581 the number of positive cases pushing our cumulative tests to 284,500.” Said the Ministry of Health.

The new cases comprised of 8 foreigners and 583 Kenyans with the number of males being 409 and females 197.In terms of their age,the youngest was 4-months and the oldest 85-years.
“From the cases 583 are Kenyans while 23 are foreigners, and 409 are males and 197 females. The youngest case is a four month old infant, while the oldest is 85.”
Nairobi once again led with 448 new infections followed by Kiambu with 57, Kajiado 25, Machakos 16, Uasin Gishu 11, Nakuru 11, Kericho 9, Busia 7, Mombasa 7, Garissa 6, Bomet 3, Nyeri 2, Narok 2, Nandi 2, Embu 1, Lamu 1, Muranga 1.
In the same 24 hours a total of 75 patients were discharged from various hospitals bringing the number of recoveries in the country to 7,908.
Sadly, 14 patients succumbed to the virus bringing the total number of COVID-19 fatalities to 299.
“Unfortunately, we have lost 14 patients from the disease, bringing our fatality to 299. My sincere condolences to the families and friends of those who have lost their loved ones.”
