The Kenya Ferry Services has successfully identified the body of the Likoni Ferry tragedy victim.
Speaking after retrieving the body, Kenya Ferry Services said the victim was James Mutinda.
The body of the victim has been taken to the Coast General Mortuary as confirmed by the management.

“The body of the Likoni car incident victim James Lucinda has been taken to Coast General Hospital Mortuary by Ferry police vehicle”
Also identified was the registration number of the vehicle involved in the incident as KBX 475B.
The morning incident was one of the very many cases reported at the busy channel.
Speaking after the incident, Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho called for extreme caution to users and management.
He also confirmed to have sent a team to help in the retrieval exercise.
At the moment a multi-agency team comprising of the Kenya Navy, Kenya Coast Guard Services and those from the Kenya Ferry Services are at the scene.
