Kenya Power clarifies on planned power shutdown

Kenya Powerhas on Saturday come out strongly warning Kenyans of misleading a country widepower shutdown as false.

Taking on Twitter,Kenya Power clarified a circular going around social media that there will bepower shutdowns country wide.

“We wish to allay customer concerns arising from erroneous and misleading information circulating online/ via social media alleging that we have announced countrywide power outages.” Said Kenya Power.

In there defense the power suppliers said that the message may have beenmisinterpreted from the regular alert on routine maintenance carried out by thecompany.

“The information is misinterpreted from a regular alert on routine scheduled preventive maintenance carried out by the Company issued to customers prior for planning purposes.” Said Kenya Power.

Normal services will continue as they ensure every Kenyan has theirlights on.
