The Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has offered an explanation into the Tuesday’s power blackout experienced in parts of Western Kenya.
Through a statement, KPLC noted that they experienced a system disturbance at the Kisumu-Muhoroni high voltage transmission power that tripped several power circuits.
The effect of the disturbance affected power generation from Muhoroni Gas Turbine Station and Turkwell Hydropwer Station thus the outages in parts of Western, South Nyanza, North Rift, Central Rift and Nairobi North.
