Suppliers of goods to Kenya Prison held a demonstration at Nairobi CBD demanding their payment running in billions.

The Kenya Prison suppliers have faulted the government of failing to pay them despite previous promises.

On the other hand, the government has remained adamant in making the payment due to numerous scandals.

Among the scandals are dubious deals between Kenya Prison and the suppliers to hike amounts intentionally.

An audit report revealed the gaps between the amounts and lack of the necessary documents as per the law.

Addressing the media this month, some of them pleaded with the government to settle with them as they have huge loans to service.

They continue by explaining how the delays have caused some mental breakdown.
