The Ministry of Health has on Thursday confirmed 184 new cases of COVID-19 from 4,700 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
The new cases now bring the cumulative number of cases so far confirmed to 38,713 and samples 552,646.
“Today 184 people have tested positive from a sample size of 4,700 tested in the last 24 hours, bringing to 38,713 the number of confirmed positive cases in the country.” Said MOH

Out of the new cases, 170 of them are Kenyans and the rest are foreigners with the number of males being 110 and females 60. In terms of age, the youngest is two-months and the oldest 88-years.
“From today’s cases, 170 are Kenyans and 14 are foreigners. 110 are males and 74 females. The youngest is a two-month old infant while the oldest is 88.
Distribution of the cases by Counties: Nairobi 58 Mombasa 22 Kisumu 20 Nakuru & Kericho 13 each Trans Nzoia 8 Laikipia & Machakos 7 each Uasin Gishu, Narok & Kisii 6 each Kiambu & Kwale 4, each Homabay 3 Bomet & Embu 2. each West Pokot, Makueni, Nandi & Siaya 1 case each” Said MOH
The number of recoveries has risen to 25,023 after 115 recovered from the disease in the same period of time. 67 of the recoveries are from home-based care and 48 from various hospital.
In the same 24-hours, 7 more patients succumbed to the virus bringing to 718 the total number of fatalities in the country.
