Kenya records 536 COVID-19 cases from 6,036 samples

Kenya through the Ministry of Health has on Saturday recorded 536 new COVID-19 cases from 6,036 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

The new cases which represent a positivity rate of 8.9% now push the cumulative number of confirmed cases and samples in the country to 188,513 and 2,012,698 respectively.

“Today 536 people have tested positive for the disease, from a sample size of 6,036 tested in the last 24 hours. The positivity rate is now 8.9%. Total confirmed positive cases are now 188,513 and cumulative tests so far conducted are 2,012,698.” Said MOH

A total of 336 patients recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, 236 of them coming from various health facilities across the country and 100 from home-based care. Cumulative number of recoveries now stand at 178,119.

Unfortunately, 3 patients have succumbed to the virus with all the deaths being late death reports in the month of July 2021. Cumulative number of fatalities now stand at 3,721.
