Kenyan artists to earn Ksh 200 million monthly

Kenyan artists will from this week be earning Ksh 200 million monthly as announced by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The payment will be channeled through the various systems already in place for the artists.

Initially, they used to earn a total of Ksh 200 million per month as noted by the President as he spoke from State House.

In addition to the monies, the Ministry of Culture and Heritage has been directed to allocate Ksh 100 million to Kenyan artists.

The money will be paid out to artists to keep entertaining Kenyans during this difficult time of the coronavirus.

It will cushion the youth promoting their content through various platforms including radio, TV and You Tube.

The list of artists as mentioned by the President includes musicians and actors.
