A total of 1,554 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Kenya from 9,389 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
The new cases now bring to 81,656 the number of confirmed cases and 870,950 the number of samples so far tested. All the new cases comprise of Kenyans except 28 who are foreigners.

Distribution of the new cases are as follows; Nairobi 546, Mombasa 159, Kilifi 153, Kiambu 96, Kericho 68, Meru 45, Kisumu 44, Nakuru 37, Bomet 33, Kakamega 32, Machakos 30, Kajiado 29, Nyandarua 27, Busia 25, Nyeri 25, Kisii 24, Uasin Gishu 22, Siaya 18, Lamu 16, Murang’a 15, Laikipia 14, Kitui 13, Samburu 12, Taita Taveta 11, Isiolo 10, Trans Nzoia 9, Bungoma 7, Nandi 6, Embu 6, Makueni 5, Turkana 4, Kwale 4, Vihiga 3, Homa Bay 2, Marsabit 2, Baringo 1 and Nyamira 1.
In the same 24 hours, 599 new recoveries were confirmed by the Ministry, 476 of them being reported from home-based program and the rest from various hospitals across the country. The number of recoveries is now 54,125.
Sadly, 14 more people succumbed to the virus rising the number of fatalities in the country to 1,441.
