Kenya’s COVID-19 deaths rise by 20 to 2,244

Kenya has on Monday recorded 20 COVID-19 deaths rising the cumulative number of deaths so far confirmed to 2,244.

The Ministry of health confirmed the new deaths comprised of 1 in the last 24 hours, 10 in the last one month and 9 from late reports from various health facility records.

“20 deaths have been reported, (1) in the last 24 hours, 10 in the last one month & 9 are late death reports from facility record audits

Cumulative fatalities are at 2,244. Our sincere condolences to the families and friends of those who have lost their loved ones.” Said Ministry of Health.

Also confirmed by the Ministry is 460 new cases of the virus from 2,753 samples tested in the last 24 hours. The cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in the country now stand at 139,448 and samples tested stand at 1,520,390.

On a positive note, 178 have recovered from the virus, 79 of whom are from home-based care and 99 from various health facilities in the country. Cumulative number of recoveries now stand at 94,361.

“178 patients have recovered from the disease, 99 from health facilities & 79 are from the Home Based and Isolation Care. Total recoveries now stand at 94,361.” Said Ministry of Health.
