COVID-19 fatalities in Kenya have on Sunday risen by four bringing the cumulative number of deaths in the country to 1,744.
“4 patients have succumbed to the disease pushing our cumulative fatalities to 1,744. Our sincere condolences to the families and friends of those who have lost their loved ones.” Said MOH
The Ministry of Health was speaking as they confirmed 85 new cases of the disease from a total of 2,985 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

This now brings to 99,983 the cumulative number of confirmed cases and 1,156,106 the cumulative number of tests so far conducted since the first case was reported in the country.
“85 people have tested positive to the disease, out of a sample size of 2,985 tested in the last 24 hours. The total confirmed positive cases are now 99,983. The cumulative tests so far conducted are 1,156,106.” Said Ministry of Health.
Distribution of the new cases is as follows; Nairobi 70, Kiambu 2, Makueni 2, Mombasa 2, Nyeri 2, Nakuru 2, Laikipia 1, Machakos 1, Narok 1, Nyandarua 1 and Trans Nzoia 1.
On a positive note, 33 patients have recovered from the disease rising the number of recoveries in the country to 82,969. The recoveries consist of 25 home based patients and 8 from various hospitals across the country.
“33 patients have recovered from the disease. 25 from the Home-Based Isolation and Care while 8 are from our various facilities. The total recoveries now stand at 82,969.” Said Ministry of Health.
