2014 Commonwealth and 10,000 metres champion Joyce Chepkirui has been handed a four year ban following doping violation.
The ban which dates back to 2019 when anomalies were found in her Athlete Biological Passport (ABP).
The 33-year-old champion was first put under investigations after her blood samples were taken in for testing in 2016 and 2017. It was in 2019 when she was suspended pending further determination.

World Athletics who were undertaking the investigation appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) who in turn confirmed the four year ban.
Joyce Chepkirui will also have her achievements between April 2016 and August 2017 disqualified that includes a third place finish in the 2016 Boston Marathon.
Kenya’s anti doping agent has also been fined $2,139.95 by CAS as legal expenses incurred during the hearing.
