Kenya through the Ministry of Health has confirmed 624 new cases of COVID-19 from a sample size of 6,728 tested in the last 24 hours.
The new cases and samples now push the cumulative number of samples so far tested to 1,852,512 and cases so far confirmed to 174,285.

“Today 624 people have tested positive for the disease, from a sample size of 6,728 tested in the last 24 hours with a positivity rate of 9.3%. Total confirmed positive cases are now 174,285 and cumulative tests so far conducted are 1,852,612.” Said Ministry of Health.
In terms of distribution of the new cases by gender 405 of them are male and 219 are females with the youngest being two-months and the oldest being 94-years.
On a positive note, 313 patients have recovered from the virus out of whom 258 of them are from home-based care and 55 from various health facilities in the country. Cumulative number of recoveries now stands at 119,246.
Sadly, 17 people have succumbed to the virus pushing the cumulative number of deaths in the country to 3,362. All deaths are late audit reports from various hospitals between the months of May and June.
