Kericho man arrested for allegedly raping his mother

Police in Kericho is said to be holding a 38-year-old man who is accused of raping his 60-year old mother.

The Kericho man who has been identified as Geoffrey Kibet is said to have arrived home while drunk before attacking the mother.

He is said to have threatened to cut the woman with a panga which he had at the moment.

Kibet is said to have slapped her before raping the old woman from 8 Pm till late in the midnight.

When the accused went to sleep in his room, the mother rushed to a neighbor’s house to get some help before he was reported to the area chief.

Police were able to arrest him at a local joint before he was taken to the station where he is currently being held.

Further reports indicate that the accused is well known in the area for marrying and divorcing women now and then.

A neighbor revealed that he had recently sent packing his eighth wife, a trend that has since been condemned by the local area chief.

Rape suspect arrested in Rangwe

 A clinical officer in Rangwe Constituency has been arrested for allegedly defiling a minor.

The suspect Michael Otieno is said to have defiled the 16-year-old girl when she had visited Randug health center where he works.

Otieno is then said to have lured his victim to his house before committing the crime.

Appearing before the court, Odhiambo denied all charges leveled against him and was released on Ksh 200,000 and a surety of the same amount.

The hearing is scheduled for September 10th, 2019.
