Former Kakamega Senator is in trouble after supporters of Kenya Kwanza accused him of campaigning for ODM candidate in the region.
Chaos erupted during the rally as supporters of Senator Cleophas Malala accused Khalwale of campaigning for Ferdinand Barasa who is vying for the Kakamega Governor seat alongside Malala.
Speaking at Mundere market in Matungu constituency, Khalwale termed himself as the best performing legislator in the region as termed himself, Senator Malala and Ferdinand Barasa as the sons of the region.

The remarks did not settle well with Malala who accused the Senatorial aspirant of not endorsing his candidature as the next governor of Kakamega during the rally.
Supporters of Maalala charged charged toward the former Senator who was forced to leave the rally as his car was pelted with stones. Malala confidently declared himself the next Governor of Kakamega.
Speaking after the incident to Nation, Khalwale noted that his statement was misunderstood as he vowed to campaign for fellow Kenya Kwanza candidate Senator Cleophas Malala.
