A four storey in Mamboleo, Kisumu County has collapsed on Tuesday as rescue operations are underway.

A multi-agency team is on-site at the moment to rescue those trapped under the rubbles when the building collapsed.

At the time of the incident, six mansions who were on site were affected out of whom only two were rescued before they were taken for treatment at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga and Referral Hospital for treatment.

They were then discharged before joining the rescue mission where one more person was found and taken in for treatment.

According to sources, three other mansions are still trapped under the rabbles as rescuers work around the clock to find them.

The news comes in a week when heavy rains have struck the city of Kisumu in the evening hours accompanied by strong winds.

So strong are the winds that electricity poles are brought down causing damages in some places within Kisumu.
