Two girls in Kisumu are nursing injuries after they were raped by a gang of 10 who attacked them in Ahero.

According to Citizen TV, the two girls are in high school and were heading home at night when the men attacked and committed the crime.

They were taken to Ahero sub-county hospital where they received treatment and were discharged as they recuperate from home.

The matter was reported to Nyando police station where the girls confirmed to have identified one of the men among the ten.

Police officers have been called in to act swiftly and arrest the men who are on the loose and could commit the same act on other girls in the area.

Area clubs popularly known as disco matangas have been urged to close down during this time as students are at home and due to the COVID-19 regulations.

The news comes at a time when the country recorded 176 new cases of the disease on Saturday.

A total of 329 patients were confirmed to have recovered as three succumbed to the complications brought about by the virus.

Parents have also been urged to take great care of their children during this time when they are at home to avoid cases of teen pregnancies.
