Kisumu police lobby teargas to disperse Kibuye traders

Police in Kisumu have on Sunday engaged traders at Kibuye market in running battles as they called for its closure .

The police were at the market to enforce an order to shut down open air markets due to the outbreak of coronavirus.

Traders at the area refused to close down their business sighting no other means to make ends meat except from their businesses.

The same order was being executed at Jubilee Market eher the same resistance was being experienced forcing police to lobby teargas in the air.

On Wednesday, Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o issued several other measures including burial to be done withing the next 48 hours.

The governor also confirmed that a suspected coronavirus patient was at the Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu pending release of the results.
