A Gospel musician from Rwanda by the name Kizito Mihigo has died while under police custody.
The controversial singer is reported to have been found dead inside the police cell where he was being held.
Kizito Mihigo was arrested on allegations that he wanted to leave the county and join a rebel group.

It will be remembered that it was not the first time that Kizito was arrested as in 2015 he was arrested for planning to assassinate President Paul Kagame.
He served a ten-year jail sentence before he was released by the government.
Confirming his death was Rwanda news agency who said he was arrested for bribing to leave the country.
“Troubled singer Kizito Mihigo has allegedly committed suicide, according to Rwanda police statement.
This Monday morning, Kizito was found dead in a police cell at Remera Station. He was recently arrested while attempting to bribe his way out of the country illegally.”
