Kenya leading airline KQ (Kenya Airways) has bowed down to public pressure over the suspension of Gire Ali following his revelation on China Southern Airline arrival.
In a letter KQ they admitted to have received opinions from the public in regard to the filming and circulation to social media the arrival of China Southern Airline at JKIA.
They continued by noting that coronavirus is something that the public has interest on and that it enables every player take the necessary steps to ensure safety of Kenyans.
It is due to that the are required by Kenya Airport Authority to adhere to security procedures at JKIA.
Upon receiving Gire Ali’s leaked footage, they confirm to have followed the necessary Human Resource policies to suspend him as investigations continue.
They have therefore promised to make the investigation as transparent as possible and ensure that Ali received his full pay and maintain his legal rights.
The arrival of the Chine plane with 239 passengers caused an uproar by the public over negligence by the government on handling coronavirus infections.
The video saw the courts call for an immediate quarantine of the passengers at a KDF facility pending a medical report and determination by the court.
At the same time all direct flights from China were called off with immediate effect as a precaution.
