The National Assembly has familiarized Kwale Women Representative Hon. Zuleikha Hassan with the parliament area allocated for lactating mothers.
The news comes barely a week after the Kwale Women Representative was kicked out of the parliament for sneaking a baby inside the chambers.
“The Kwale Woman Representative Hon. Zuleikha Hassan checks out items at the crèche facility within the precincts of Parliament, this morning. The Parliamentary Service Commission established the facility to cater for Members and staff following a resolution of the House.” Said the National Assembly of Kenya

On August 7th, Hon. Zuleikha was kicked out of the parliament chambers by acting Deputy Speaker Speaker Chris Omulele for violating standing orders of the House.

It was later established that the Women Representative come with the infant intentionally to create awareness on matters affecting lactating mothers.

Deputy Speaker Moses Cheboi warned Women Representatives from repeating the same turn of events.
The acting Deputy was called out for being insensitive on matters affecting breastfeeding mothers as the drama lasted for about an hour.
