Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) has introduced seasonal park entry fees that will come into effect 1st July 2022.
The new fees are contrary to the uniform charges with the changes expected to close the bridge between high and low seasons to allow visitation at the park all year round.

“Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) has introduced seasonal park entry fees effective 1st July 2022. The seasonal fees have low & high seasons unlike the current uniform charges. The changes are an effort to bridge seasonality and encourage visitation to the parks all-round the year.” Said KWS
Through a press release, KWS noted that low season covers 1st March to 30th June and high season covers 1st July to 28th February.
According to KWS, visitation by both residents and non residents at parks during high season creates fluctuations in all tourism business and financial constraints not only to KWS but to communities around the parks.
Unlike the previous arrangement, the seasonal tickets will bring in attractive packages that will see a steady flow of tourists all around the year and keep the financial flow steady throughout.
