Lawrence Warunge the prime suspect in the murder of his family member has denied all five counts of murder.
Appearing before Kiambu High Court, Lawrence denied killing his father, mother, brother, nephew and a family casual worker after he was declared fit to stand trial.
“Lawrence Warunge today appeared before Kiambu High Court and denied 5 counts of murder. He is accused of murdering his mother, father, brother, nephew and a worker at Karura area in Kiambaa, Kiambu County on 5/1/2021.

He denied the charges during a virtual court session before Justice Mary Kasango and was remanded at Nairobi Industrial Area Prison pending the pre-trial hearing of the case scheduled for May 11, 2021.” Said Office of the Director of Public Prosecutor.
The trial of the University student was delayed following a mental assessment that revealed that he was unfit to stand trial. A second test from Mathari Mental Hospital revealed he was fit to stand trial.

He begun his alleged murder spree with the worker identified as Christian Njega before proceeding to his family house stabbing to death his mother, before completing his spree by stabbing his father who attempted to escape the scene.
