Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson who suffered a groin injury during the club’s clash with Everton has undergone surgery and will be out until April.
The Saturday match at Anfield saw the Reds trail Everton in the first half as the captain was accessed by the medical team who recommended a surgery to correct the injury.
In a statement issued by Liverpool, they confirmed that Henderson has undergone a successful surgery and will immediately begin rehabilitation programme.

“Following further assessment with the club’s medical team, Henderson has successfully had a corrective procedure carried out on the adductor injury. He will begin a rehabilitation programme immediately.” Said Liverpool.
The news comes a time when the club is struggling in the Premier League as they dropped position to sixth from 25 games, a position below Chelsea who are finding their form under coach Thomas Tuchel.
Coach Jurgen Klopp has ruled out calls to take a rest from coaching duty promising better results from the league giants.
