Liverpool FC wins court battle against New Balance

English Premier League club Liverpool FC has won a legal battle against New Balance.

According to the US-based company, Liverpool failed to honor its existing deal that ends in May 2020.

Liverpool FC, on the other hand, had the right to revoke the sponsorship if another company tables an offer better than that of New Balance.

Currently, the US Company pays the EPL league leaders 40 million pounds a year which is termed unfavorable compared to Nike whose deal includes marketing.

Passing the judgment a London Court agreed that Nike’s five year deal of 30 million pounds and marketing was way better than that of New Balance.

Currently, prolific players such as Lebron James and Serena Williams benefit from Nike and their deal works best for them.

Nike is said to have struck a deal with Liverpool to supply its products to over six thousand stores in the world of which about fifty are owned by the company.

Rumors making rounds is that the footwear distributor has over forty thousand stores has been dismissed by the club.

They have however welcomed the judgment as they had already made up their mind of not extending any deal with them.
