Liverpool have on Saturday won its fourth match in a raw after beating Leicester 2-1 at home thanks to Sado Mane and Roberto Firmino goals.
Liverpool took an early first half when Sado Mane scored the first goal 10 minutes after kickoff taking control of the game in the first half.
The Red’s came in the second half but to their surprise Leicester strongly attacked the Liverpool’s defence.
Algerian Rachid Ghezzal scored the only goal in the second half thanks to a Kelechi Iheanacho seting up an amazing finish. Leicester continued to push for an equalizer but Liverpool showed their might holding to a 2-1 win at home ground.
Liverpool coash Jurgen Kloop admitted that his team came into the game with high expectations but they were surprised by how Leicester kept pushing for goals.
“Result-wise it could not have been better. Performance-wise, we know we can improve and we really know that we could have already done better. Again, the start today showed how good we can be but it’s still early in the season – so we are not 100 per cent stable in these situations to do the right things constantly. It was a bit difficult; when the pitch got drier and drier, it changed our game. We should not suffer from that too much but we did, it changed our game. We should have been much more direct, playing in behind, and use these situations much more than the other way around. But we scored a nice goal and we had the two biggest chances of the game before that already.” Said Coach Jurgen Kloop.
The score lives Liverpool on top of the table with the maximum 12 points from the four matches they have played.
In other early kick off matches, Fulham drew 2-2 away to Brighton. Chelsea won 2-0 when they entertained Bournemouth thanks to a Pedro and Eden Hazard goals.
Southampton won 2-0 away at Crystal Palace as Everton were forced to share a point with Huddersfield.
Wolves scored a last minute goal through Adama Traore to give them a crucial 3 points when they faced West Ham United.
