Liverpool once again proved their strength in the Premier League by beating Southampton and recording their fourth successive win.
Even without the presence of coach Jurgen Klopp who received a touchline ban, the Reds were the first to strike thanks to a looping header from Firmino in the fifth minute.
The lead was however equalized by Che Adam who headed home a fantastic James Ward-Prowse delivery but their form was questionable as they struggled to hold a strong Liverpool squad that came calling.

Their hard work paid off as Darwin Nunez doubled the lead twelve minutes later when he finished off a Harvey Elliott’s through ball pass. He was once again on the score board in the 42nd minute when he finished off Robertson’s square ball.
Mohamed Salah came close to have his name on the list but his plea for a penalty was denied as Alisson Becker blocked off a Mohamed Elyounoussi’s threat.
The win sends Liverpool to 6th position with 22 points as Southampton went deep down the relegation zone with 12 points.
Tottenham come from behind to beat Leeds
In another fixture of the day, third placed Tottenham overcame a Leeds threat as they came from behind to beat them.
Rodrigo Bentancur netted a brace late in the second half to cancel a Rodrigo’s goal that had given the visitors the lead.
Summerville continued with his impressive goal scoring form as he gave Leeds the lead in the 10th minute before England striker Harry Kane equalized in the 25th minute. Rodrigo ensured the visitors were ahead before the break volleying home a Rasmus Kristensen’s lofted header in the 43rd minute.
The win cements Tottenham’s grip in the third spot with 29 points and three points behind second placed Manchester City. Leads dropped to 14 position with 15 points from 14 matches played.
