Liverpool win as Tottenham come from behind to beat Leeds

Even without the presence of coach Jurgen Klopp who received a touchline ban, the Reds were the first to strike thanks to a looping header from Firmino in the fifth minute.

The lead was however equalized by Che Adam who headed home a fantastic James Ward-Prowse delivery but their form was questionable as they struggled to hold a strong Liverpool squad that came calling.

Their hard work paid off as Darwin Nunez doubled the lead twelve minutes later when he finished off a Harvey Elliott’s through ball pass. He was once again on the score board in the 42nd minute when he finished off Robertson’s square ball.

Mohamed Salah came close to have his name on the list but his plea for a penalty was denied as Alisson Becker blocked off a Mohamed Elyounoussi’s threat.

The win sends Liverpool to 6th position with 22 points as Southampton went deep down the relegation zone with 12 points.
