Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Nelson Havi was on Tuesday arrested over the alleged assault of suspended CEO Mercy Wambua.
In a statement issued by the society Vice President Carolyne Kamande, Havi was whisked away by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) at his office on Tuesday morning.
According to Wambui, the LSK President assaulted her during the society meeting held in Nairobi something that Nelson Havi denied blaming the suspended CEO for coming in so as to report their day’s agenda.

It is reported that Wambui stayed put even after she was ordered to leave something that agitated Havi that he wanted to slap her. He allegedly dodged the slap which landed on her hand injuring her fingers in the process.
Through her lawyer, Mercy Wambui recorded a statement at Muthangari police station claiming that her finger could hardly stretch after the encounter.
Taking on social media, Havi claimed that Wambui is protecting her principals from an alleged theft of LSK resources.
“Theft is theft! It is no less if committed by a woman. Mercy Wambua is shielding her principals, two immediate former Presidents of LSK from liability for plunder of hundreds of millions. Falsely shouting through paid journalists that ‘Nelson Havi assaulted me’ won’t help.” Said Havi
