Luis Enrique leaves the Spanish national team

Former Barcelona head coach Luis Enrique has left the Spanish national team and will instead return to club football.

The news follows a successful internal meeting between both parties as revealed through a statement by the national team.

The news comes at a time when Spain was knocked out of the FIFA World Cup on penalties by Morocco thanks to three saves from Bono.

Replacing Enrique is Luis de la Fuente who was the head coach of the Spain U21 team. Both the national team and de la Fuente signed the agreements.

“Luis de la Fuente has signed as the new head coach of Spain! U21 manager now becomes the main man for the Spanish project to replace Luis Enrique.

De la Fuente and Spanish Federation have completed the agreement today. Here we go.”Said Fabrizio Romano
