Machakos Level five Hospital has conducted the first ever brain surgery on a patient who has a brain tumor.
The patient 58-year old Henry Mutinda saw his surgery last for 3 hours led by a team of neurosurgeons led by Surgeon Sam Njiru.
Breaking the good news was Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua who said “I am delighted to announce that today, Machakos Level 5 Referral Hospital has conducted it’s first ever brain surgery on 52-year old, Mr. Henry Mutinda.”
The Governor further added that Dr. Sam Njiru led team have expressed optimism in full recovery of the patient.
“Lead Surgeon Dr. Sam Njiru and Machakos Level 5 superintendent Dr.Alvin Wachira have expressed optimism of a full recovery for the patient.
This surgery is a step in the right direction for our people, not only the rich, but for all in Machakos.” Said Governor Mutua.

8.Environment attendants: Judy Mueni & Musembi Mulinge
In addition to the first ever brain surgery in the county, Machakos County will open up its first ever cancer centre set up by the county government and 15 new community hospitals set to open in a week’s time.

In addition to that, the Machakos Government has set aside 542 million for renovation and purchase of equipment in the hospitals.
“My plan is to transform our healthcare facilities to provide quality and efficient health services comparable to those found the developed world. We have the will, the know how and the resources.” Said Governor Mutua.
