Makueni family of four burnt to death by arsonists

A family of four was on Sunday night burnt to death by arsonists who burnt a mother, daughter, and two grandchildren in Makueni County.

The mother identified as Regina Mueni, 49, daughter Faith Mangeli, 27 and grandaughters Angel,5 and Amelia Masava, 2 succumbed to the deadly inferno.

The arsonists in question are believed to have attacked the family due to a land dispute that had previously been solved by local administrators.

Those against Mueni’s stay at the land are her brothers who are currently being pursued by police as the prime suspects in the attack.

Monica Matolo, the mother to Regina Mueni escaped the inferno with minor burns but was rushed to Makueni County Referral Hospital for treatment.

Police have launched investigations into the incident to determine the culprits and the motive behind the attack.

Bodies of the four have been transferred to Makueni County Referral Hospital Mortuary.
