Manchester United finished their season with a solid 2-0 win against Leicester to secure a third position and spot for the Champions League.

Ole Gunner Solskjaer side needed only a draw to qualify but a late Bruno Fernandes goal was more than enough to cement their top four finish.

Leicester who had been in the top four spot for a long time needed a win after Chelsea took the lead against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Foxes found themselves on the receiving end when striker Anthony Martial was brough down by Jonny Evans and Wes Morgan.

Bruno Fernandes stepped in to take the penalty and as usual he never disappointed infront of the goalkeeper.

Both sides had clear opportunities to capitalize on but England Jamie Verdy saw his header went off the post posing no danger to the visitors.

Goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel gave Jessie Lingard a golden opportunity when the ball rolled off his hands for the second in the evening.

Leicester kicked out Champions League

The 2-0 loss at King Power stadium left Leicester disappointed having fought throughout the season to secure a Champions League spot.

They will however feel relieved having secured a Europa League spot finishing fifth above Tottenham who finished sixth.
