Manchester City record season’s biggest win against Burnley

Manchester City bounced back to winning ways condemning Burnley to a huge loss at the Etihad Stadium.

Riyad Mahrez was on target thrice to end his goal drought as the club recorded the biggest win of the season to the delight of Pep Guardiola.

The Algerian sent the host ahead in the sixth minute curling home a De Bruyne’s assist before doubling the lead in similar fashion 16 minutes later.

Kevin de Bruyne doubled his assist before the end of the first half providing Benjamin Mendy with the ball before he ensured they were three goals up in the first half.

Ferran Torres made in four in the 66th minute as he picked up a Gabriel Jesus assist to cement their lead and three points in the league standing.

Mahrez completed his hat-trick three minutes later to record a win for Manchester City after a devastating loss against Tottenham last week.

The win takes City to position eight with 15 points from nine games played as Burnley remained a point above the relegation zone with five points.
