Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has confirmed testing positive for COVID-19 through a close contact.
In a short social media update, the Argentine also confirmed having all symptoms as he proceeds to isolate as per the doctors orders.
“After a close contact, I’ve been self-isolating and the latest test I took was positive for COVID 19. I had some symptoms and I’m following doctor’s orders for recovery. Take care, everyone!.” Said Aguero.

The news comes at a time when increased number of cases have rocked the English Premier League with some managers proposing postponement of the league.
The board has however remained calm about it with some clubs such as Aston Villa resorting to youngsters in crucial matches thus recording poor results.
Players and club officials undergo mandatory tests on a weekly basis to prevent further surge of the cases as confirmed by some of the clubs.
Recently clubs such as Arsenal were granted permission to host 2,000 supporters following a decrease in cases and implementation of strict measurers in return.
The decision was however reversed with players facing disciplinary action if found breaching COVID-19 rules and regulations.
