Manchester United deepen Aston Villa woes

Manchester United continued with its impressive form beating Aston Villa on Thursday and deepen its woes at the bottom of the Premier League table.

Bruno Fernandes, Greenwood and Paul Pogba were also on target to inspire their side to a successive 17 game unbeaten run in all European competitions.

Portuguese star Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring from the penalty spot when he was fouled by Ezri Konsa.

The visitors took much of the possession in the first half and were on target for the second goal when Mason Greenwood proved his ability infront of the net.

Paul Pogba completed the three goal rout in the 58th minute before Antony Martial missed another one hitting the crossbar.

Ole Gunner’s signing of Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon inspired a once slow attacking club to one whose dynamic has changed in dynamic.

His combination with that of Greenwood, Martial, and Rashford has proved to be a lethal forward force to reckon with in the last few games.

The win has pushed the Red Devils a point behind Leicester City who are sited at position four with 59 points.

Aston Villa on the other hand settled at second last position with 27 points six above Norwich and one behind Bournemouth.

In other results of the night, Tottenham was held to a barren draw by Bournemouth to frustrate their chance for a European position next season.

Jose Mourinho’s side now lies at position nine and a point behind Arsenal who have 50 points from 34 games played.

Everton just like Tottenham was held to a 1-1 draw by Southampton with the clubs settling at positions 11 and 12 respectively.
