Manchester United suffer a 3-2 defeat at Brighton

Manchester United has on Sunday suffered a 3-2 defeat at Brighton.

Brighton goals came before half time with Glen Murray, Shane Duffy and a Pascal penalty gave the home team a three goal advantage.

It is the first time in two years the Red Devils have conceded more than twice in a match.

The defeat takes Mourinho’s boys three points behind Premier League champions Manchester City, Tottenham and Chelsea.

Romelu Lukaku netted the first goal for Manchester United making it 2-1 but it wasn’t enough to give them a relief until the stoppage minutes when Pogba pulled a goal for the Red Devils.

Mourinho had warned of a tough season and even took no chances in his first eleven selection recalling Martial who was away during the pre-season. Martial’s wife had given birth to their second child.

The special one said they were to blame themselves for the defeat due to their mistakes admitting some happened during crucial moments.

According to Mourinho, he expected the result to end at 2-1 but the third goal was the end point during the clash.

French midfielder Paul Pogba personally blamed his under expectation game as the reason for the defeat.

Alexis Sanchez was the crucial player missing in today’s match due to an injury.

Pogba further said that Brighton came to the game in need of the three points more than they did. He blamed the whole team’s performance.

Manchester United’s first eleven included goal keeper De Gea, Young, Lindelof, Bailly, Shaw, Fred, Adreas, Pogba, Mata, Lukaku and Martial.
