Marcus Rashford scored twice to sink Tottenham and beat former manager Jose Mourinho who was making a return to Old Trafford.

The England forward netted his first in the fifth minute when the ball went past Davidson Sanchez to beat keeper Gazzaniga.

Dele Ali pulled one for the visitors before the first half break to put both sides level.

Mousa Sissoko fouled Rashford inside the box before a VAR decision ruled it as a penalty.

Rashford stepped in and calmly converted it to a goal in the 59th minute of the match.

The win by Manchester United end a three game winning streak for Tottenham under Mourinho’s rule.

The Portuguese manager was received with respect at his old club as home fans saluted him for his work when in charge.

Manchester United now sit at position six with 21 points, two points behind Wolves.
