Mariam and daughter to be laid to rest on Wednesday

Likoni Ferry victims Mariam and daughter Amanda Mutheu are to be laid to rest on Wednesday.

The announcement came following a family meeting and arrangement that resolved the two will be laid to rest in Makueni.

Makueni is the rural home of Joseph Wambua, the husband to Mariam and father to Amanda Mutheu.

The family also met Governor Kivutha Kibwana who vowed to assist the family leading to the burial in his county.

At the same time investigations have already been launched to determine the cause of Mariam and daughter death.

This follows a look into the vehicle that was retrieved on Friday showing it was on parking gear raising questions as to how it sunk.

Addressing the media, Joseph the husband to Mariam Kighenda also questioned the same thing as he left things to the investigators.

Government spokesman Cyrus Oguna clarified that the status of the car untouched as it was retrieved as it was in the ocean.
