Maribe and fiance to spend another week in remand

Jacque Maribe and finance Joseph Irungu will spend a week in custody before their bond application will be heard.

The duo were today before High court Judge James Wakiaga who stepped in for Justice Lessit after Judge Lessit called for another Judge to take over the case.

In the last hearing, judge Lessit called on the media to stop publishing unauthenticated news after families of the accused complained.

On Wednesday, Jacque Maribe’s fiancé Jowie was ordered to be taken for treatment at the Kenyatta National Hospital before the bail hearing.

Judge Wakiaga also told the probation officers to prepare a pre-bail report before the seven days elapse.

Citizen TV journalist Jacque Maribe and Joseph Irungu were held following the murder of business woman Monica Kimani. On Monday both Jacque and Jowie pleaded not guilty to the offense.

In what was an emotional day for Jowie, fiancé Maribe applied for a bail stating that she was not involved in the crime any way and the she never knew the late Monica until that fateful day.

In a five page affidavit Maribe continued by saying that she was in no way a flight risk as she is a well-known news anchor of a well-known company.

She continued by saying that she is also known in various joints around the city where she hangs out.
