This is after a former Facebook employee leaked documents confirming that the company ignored reports that it was contributing to a negative impact on children through harmful content.

Even though it has rebranded, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger will maintain their names. The company will however trade under MVRS come December 1st.

Speaking on the way forward, CEO Mark Zuckerberg noted that the company will create a Metaverse. A Metaverse is essentially a virtual space in 3D that will see visitors walk in and out of rooms where they can meet, work and play at the same time.

Also incorporate in the Metaverse will be shopping platforms and social media that has been their business since incorporation.

Many companies are now expected follow suit and create their very own spaces like Facebook. Zuckerberg believes the move will also create employment across the world.
