Kakamega-based Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) has officially been registered as a Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVET) institute.
The certificate issued on June 2nd implies that the University will comply will all law complying operations of TVET institutes including admission and type of courses to undertake.

It will however now change its name to Masinde Muliro University of Science and technology TVET institute with immediate effect.
The university will also begin admission of students from September this year with the 480 students expected to undertake different Diploma courses at the facility. It will then register up to 60 students in its next intake.
speaking during the issuance of TVET certificate was Prof. Solomon Shibairo who expressed his optimism that the University will recognition by the Ministry of Education
He continued by saying that the students registered under TVET will further their studies until when they attain a PHD or Masters.
