Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) have arrested and grilled Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua over graft charges amounting to Ksh 12.5 billion.
The arrest of the legislators comes days after his bank accounts were frozen as investigation into the corrupt dealings was being done.

What the detectives are trying to unravel is the source of income in his bank accounts as well as those who may have transacted with the Member of Parliament.
It is alleged that the legislators issued irregular tenders to individuals in millions with the beneficiary being himself at the end of the transaction.
Among those under the police radar are two hairdresser who are reported to have been awarded tenders worth millions leading to the Ksh 12.5 billion misappropiation of funds.
