Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’I has declared Tuesday as a public holiday to mark Idd-ul-Adha.
Idd-ul-Adha is an Islamic festival commemorating the willingness of Abraham to follow Allah’s command to sacrifice his son.
The festival also marks the end of Hajji which an annual pilgrimage of Islams to Mecca.
Idd-ul-Fitr is another Islamic festival marking the end of fasting, in other word it is called breaking the fast.
During Idd-ul-Adha, people come together to eat as they also pray.
The festival runs for four days from August 21st to 25th but in some Arab countries it may go for nine days.
