Meru County Speaker’s bodyguard shot dead

The bodyguard of Meru Speaker Joseph Kaberia was on Sunday shot dead in Nairobi Kamiti area.

The bodyguard who has been identified as constable Samuel Munga is said to have been shot the Meru Speaker’s driver following an argument.

The 3 am incident happened in the absence of the Speaker but he broke the sad news saying that his driver Andrew Mwithalii was admitted at the hospital.

Scuffle is said to have ensured when the driver dropped off the bodyguard outside his sister’s house at Kamiti corner.

Neighbors who witnessed the argument said they heard a confrontation before gun shots rented the air.

Andrew who sustained a gunshot wound was admitted at Ruaraka Neema Hospital in Kasarani as the Constable Samuel succumbed to the bullet wounds.

A close police source revealed to Citizen TV that a total of 17 cartridges were recovered from the scene of crime.

In addition to that, all the bullets at the scene are said to have come from the driver’s gun as that of the bodyguard had all its 15 ammunition intact.
