Meru Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) have tabled a motion to impeach Governor Kawira Mwangaza starting Tuesday 22nd November 2022.
The motion to impeach the Governor was tabled by Abogeta West Member of County Assembly Dennis Kiogora who accused her of several allegation.
Receiving the motion was Speaker who noted that the Governor is accused of abuse of office, gross misconduct, violation of the constitution and gross violation of county laws.

In addition to the violations, Governor Kawira Mwangaza is also accused of nepotism after appointing her husband, family members and unlawful dismissal of county employees.
During a previous press conference, the Governor accused the MCAs of false accusations when her husband has voluntary dedicated to work without any pay for the county.
She continued by defending her sister’s position as her personal security detail on grounds that she has the right to select her own bodyguard.
