Michael Joseph appointed interim Safaricom CEO

Safaricom PLC has appointed Michael Joseph as the interim Chief Executive Officer following the demise of Bob Collymore.

Michael Joseph who is a board member of Safaricom has been appointed following a special board meeting of the Directors.

“Following the passing on of the company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mr. Robert (Bob) William Collymore on 1st July 2019, at a Special Board meeting of the Directors that was held on the even date, the Board resolved to appoint Mr. Michael Joseph, a Board member of the company, as the interim Chief Executive Officer of the company with immediate effect.” Said Safaricom

Mr. Joseph will hold the position until the board communicates in due course on a permanent appointment.

He is also the company’s former CEO and a current Board member of Kenya Airways. Safaricom Board is confident that he will provide the necessary guidelines and leadership.
