Migori Governor Okoth Obado has been arrested on Wednesday.
The arrest comes barely a day after Ethics and Anti-Corruption officers raided his homes. During the search 8 guns were recovered from his houses.
Three guns were found in his Migori home and 5 others in Nairobi home.
He is currently being interrogated at the Directorate of criminal Investigation (DCI) headquarters in Nairobi.
During the search in Governor Obado’s homes, documents believed to be crucial in the misappropriation of Ksh 2 billion from the county were also recovered.
Mr. Okoth Obado who was arrested in the murder of Rongo university student Sharon Otieno was released last month on a five million bond.
Before his release the court set out conditions for the Governor to adhere to.
Some of the conditions were that he should not in any way set foot in Homabay County and to stay 20 km from Homabay and not to access the county from any part of the country.
Governor Obado was warned he risked his bail being canceled if he interferes with the witnesses directly or indirectly.
During any gatherings or meeting Obado was also warned from discussing the case or the deceased in any.
In addition to all that, he was also directed to report once a month to the deputy registrar of the court and at no time should he adjourn.
