Kenya through the Ministry of Health has confirmed 580 new cases of COVID-19 pushing the confirmed cases in the country to 29,334.
Confirming the new numbers was Health CAS Dr. Mercy Mwangangi who said the new numbers were from a samples size of 5,458.
In terms of gender, the number of males to that of females was 336 and 244 respectively. The youngest was 1-year and the oldest 92-years.

Out of the 580 new positive cases, 530 of them were Kenyans and 50 foreigners all traced within the last 24 hours.
“Today, we have recorded 580 new cases, raising the Country’s positive cases to 29,334. The cases were drawn from 5,458 people whose samples were tested in the last 24 hours. Cumulative number of tests so far is 381, 317.
From the new cases, 530 are Kenyans, while 50 are foreigners.The youngest is a 1 year-old & the oldest 92 years .In terms of gender, 244 were female and 336 male.” Said Ministry of Health
Nairobi continue to lead with the number of infections at 375, Kiambu 53, machakos 23, Busia 17, Mombasa 15, Nakuru 15, Kajiado 14, Kisumu 12, Lamu 10, Nyeri 7, Laikipia 3, Baringo 2, Kisii 2, Turkana, 2, Vihiga 2 as Bungoma, Nyandarua, Trans Nzoia, Garissa and Muranga recorded a single case each.
The number of recoveries went up to 15, 298 after 198 patients recovered from the virus. 119 of them were from home-based care and 79 from various hospitals.
At the same time the death toll in the country from the pandemic has gone up to 465 after 5 more patients died in the last 24 hours.
