Mombasa, Makueni, Kakamega and Murang’a pass BBI

Mombasa, Makueni, Murang’a, and Kakamega county are the latest counties to unanimously pass the BBI amendment bill.

The four counties are among many other counties expected to pass the amendment bill as of Tuesday 23rd February.

Other counties tipped to have made it a success include Taita Taveta County and Nyamira county with Narok County expected to follow suit as confirmed by Senator Ledama Olekina.

“Narok County Assembly will today vote for BBI! Whether I support BBI or Not they will vote to pass it that’s democracy and life goes on!” Said Senator Ledama.

The latest news comes at a time when ODM party leader Hon. Raila Odinga expressed his confidence that the bill will have surpassed the minimum threshold required by law.

On Monday Governor Alfred Mutua and Kivutha Kibwana confirmed their support of the BBI bill during a meeting with MCAs from both counties.

“Earlier today I joined my colleague Dr. Alfred Mutua and MCAs from both Makueni and Machakos to deliberate on the raging constitutional amendment conversation. We agreed that MCAs should respect the will of the people who endorsed the BBI amendment proposal from the recent PP fora.” Said Governor Kivutha Kibwana.
