Monaco sign former Tottenham midfielder on a three year contract

AS Monaco have signed 29 year old Nacer Chadli from English side West Bromwich Albion.

The Belgium forward has signed a three year contract with the club after transfer of an undisclosed amount. “Monaco is happy to announce the signature for three years of Nacer Chadli (29 years) from West Bromwich Albion!” said AS Monaco on Thursday.

West Bromwich was relegated from the Premier League last season and was forced to now play in the second tier Championship together with Stoke City.

Born on 2nd August 1989, Chadli is a versatile midfielder who has played for Tottenham , FC Twente and AGOVV Apeldoorn.

The Belgium International is winger is famous for scoring a late goal during the just concluded World Cup when they faced Japan. Belgium finished third during the competition.

“I am very happy to join AS Monaco, a great French club that participates in the Champions League. The results of the last seasons prove the quality of the project and the ambition of the club. I will do everything to help AS Monaco achieve great things and achieve its goals.” Added Chadli.

Monaco finished second last season and they have been drawn against Athletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Club Bruge in the Champions League draw announced on Thursday.
